Approved by Shaanxi Provincial Department ofEducation, and based on the advantages of scientific research and talents of Xi'an Jiaotong University,Shaanxi Economic Research Center(SERC) wasfounded in 2004 as one of the first batch of provincial philosophy and social sciences key research bases and innovation platforms.

SERC has one Administration Office and several Research Offices covering StrategicIndustries, CoordinatedDevelopment ofRegionalIndustries, IndustrialOrganizationTheory andPolicy, Resources andEnvironment, RegionalOpening-up andDevelopment, etc. SERC adopts an open operation and management system, and contains an Academic committee and a Management Committee. SERC activelyrecruits domestic and overseaswell-known specialist professors and experts as part-time researchersor members ofour affiliated committee, stresses the project leader responsibility system.

Since its inception,SERC has kept pace with the times in the optimization of disciplinary structure, the improvement of scientific research level, the cultivation of excellent talents, and economic& social services. It has cultivated numerous outstandingprofessionals,accomplishedvery impressive scientific research achievements, and developed into one of the regionallycharacterized economic and social research think tanks. SERC has won "Excellent" in all previous evaluations organized by Shaanxi Provincial Department of education. In 2019,SERC was successfully selected into the "ChinaThinkTankIndex" (CTTI) and has listed as one of prestigiousnationallevelthink tanks.

Adhere to the international vision, basedin Shaanxi, facingwestern China and thewholeworld, focus on keyeconomicissues,and carry out scientific research, talent training and relevant decision-making consultation,we aim at integrating forces forcontinuously better serving provincial, national, and even worldwide economic development needs.
